  • My daughters have been attending Little People's Corner for the last three years and we have all loved every minute of it. The first thing that attracted me to LPC was that they have different levels of child care. A 2-3 year old class, 4-5 year old class, and the school-agers class. I loved that my girls wouldn't be mixed in with kids that were much older then them all day long. The personal attention and care that Teacher Lisa, Debbie and Dewayne give the kids is amazing. I have never felt as good leaving my children at daycare or after school programs as I do leaving them at LPC. They have truly become like a second family to us and we appreciate their love and care from the bottom of our hearts. If you're looking for a high-end, uber-classy preschool to teach your kids to memorize the presidents from first to last and how to act like miniature adults, then this isn't the school for you. But if you're looking for a school that will nurture your children; sing and play with them; let them get dirty from time to time; teach them basic, early academic skills; and most importantly, let kids be kids; then you will love LPC. Update: It's unfortunate that Jon.C's family had a bad experience at LPC but coming from someone who had had children attend this preschool/after school program for nearly four years I can say that the staff at LPC is very attentive to issues like the one Jon C. mentioned. I've never seen them behave the way Jon C. claims they do. For example, at one point there were some older girls that were bullying one of my daughters. I'm a very "in-touch" parent in that I am very involved in getting to know the staff and what goes on while my kids are there. After speaking with LPC staff and hearing what they were doing to solve the issue I learned that the children who were doing the bullying were not going to be attending LPC any longer (either because they were moving on to a different school or because they were asked to leave, I'm not sure) but LPC staff was attentive to the needs of my children without babying them or taking sides. Of course, it took longer than two weeks to resolve the issue but the children doing the bullying needed to have fair warnings (as well as their parents) before the LPC staff could ask them to go somewhere else. I just instructed my daughters not to play with the kids that were bullying them and then everything was solved in about a month. Jon C. mentioned that his child only attended for two weeks -but children need more time to adjust. Perhaps this two year old was having their own adjustment problems in a new environment. I think it's unfair to accuse LPC staff of allowing physical abuse to go on based on only knowing LPC staff for a mere two weeks. I have never experienced any child being allowed to "beat on" another child in the last four years my girls have attended LPC. I think it would be absurd to believe that any adult staff member at a licensed facility would shrug physical abuse off as "boys will be boys." LPC might not be for everybody - but it's not for a lack of care, guidance and love.
